Well, Arianna is now just over 3 months and has been slowly starting to teethe within the last few weeks. The drool has picked up alot, and she has a new habit of grabbing my hand and ramming it in her mouth and will suck on my knuckle to help with the pain. I have teething rings for her, but since she can't quite hold things all that well yet, it seemed kind of pointless to me, so as long as my hands are clean I have no problems with her doing this, as long as it makes her feel better.
She has been pretty good (again, knock on wood) and not getting fussy, except last night for about 2-3 hours she was obviously in pain a great deal, but I think this pain was due to gas. So for the first hour I was the only one that could hold her, and I had to be standing up the whole time with her over my shoulder, not any other position or it was all screams until she was put back in that position, and for me standing with her for a long period of time really hurts my back. (which I hope will diminish soon) Anyways, after this we tried giving her some Gripe Water and Oval - because she obviously couldn't get out the burp, her feet kept coming up to her stomach, she was getting stiff - all the signs for gas. Well the Gripe and Oval seemed to work, because within the next little bit she had fallen asleep in my arms and I was able to put her down to sleep at 7 - and she slept till 2 and up till 4, and then back asleep till 8 and woke up as happy as ever, so I was really happy. It's really the saddest thing to watch her child in pain and it's even worse when they can't tell you what's wrong. Thank goodness my mom was there to give me a hand - she would take her for a bit to try someone different - but like I said she wanted Mommy again after 10-15 minutes with Nanny.
Anyways, on a different note - I took Ari to the pool for the first time last week and did she LOVE IT. We went together - as Michael had to work, and no one was around to go with us.
Well, it went pretty smoothly once we got out into the pool we played on the steps just getting her used to the water, and as she got more comfortable I started taking her out and letting her feet and body go under the water and she would occasionally kick her feet. She was absolutely amazed by everything there - all the people, the big boat in the middle of the water, the sounds she barley looked at me she was just to excited with everything that was happening around her.
So, after about 45 minutes in the water I decided it was time to go, SO the fun part. Like I've said before Ari doesn't like getting out of the water. (bath time) We make it into the change room where I preceed to change her/her diaper and boy did the water works start. She screamed and screamed and screamed, all this while I'm soaked in my bathing suit with no towel - because me the air head forgot one for me. After about 15 minutes I was able to calm her down with a bottle. Then I had to try to change myself not easy when you don't have anywhere to put your baby except your lap. Well I made due, but it took a long time.
Next time I'll use the FAMILY change room maybe that will help. Again, Air Head me thought that the whole family had to be there to use that room so I used the womans change room. I know quite dumb on my part.
But all and all we had a good day.
Also, a quick note to some of the Older Generation (sorry) yes it's alright for a 3 month old to go into the water, if the facility, life guards and other moms around me do it and doc says okay, it's alright to do so.
Ari's up.
